Q: My gas water heater makes annoying rumbling noises when the heater is in operation. What causes this?
A: This noise is usually caused by a build up of mineral deposits. This condition shortens the life span of your water heater. The hot water tank should be drained and flushed periodically, otherwise the sediment will continue to accumulate and possibly clog the drain valve. Regular maintenance will extend the life of your water heater.

Q: I have no hot water. What should I do?
A: For gas water heaters: The first thing you should do is make sure the gas is turned on to the water heater. Second, make sure the pilot light is lit. If the pilot light is lit but you still have no hot water, call your plumber to troubleshoot this problem.

Q: How can I extend the life of my water heater and plumbing system?
A: Installation of a water softener system designed for your water supply may eliminate costly repairs and prolong the life of your unit.
